Everything you see on Bird Bam is thoughtfully curated with one goal: sharing discoveries that are genuinely worth passing along. From tile sets and accessories to printables and editorial content, every feature is chosen because we believe it brings something beautiful or useful to the Mahjong experience.
Our Inspiration section also showcases submissions from members of the Collective, whose creativity continues to inspire us and one another.

Do you sell products directly?

Accepted Answer

No. Bird Bam is an editorial website, not an online store. We thoughtfully curate products we believe are worth sharing and link directly to the retailers who sell them.
When you click on a product, you'll be taken to the retailer's website to complete your purchase. This allows you to shop directly with the brand or retailer while we continue doing what we love most—discovering and sharing beautiful Mahjong finds with the Collective.

Are your product links affiliate links?

Accepted Answer

Yes, some of them are. If you purchase through certain links on Bird Bam, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Those commissions help support the work we do, but they never determine what appears on our site. We feature products because we believe they're beautifully designed, thoughtfully made, or simply too good not to share.

Do you accept brand partnerships or collaborations?

Yes—but thoughtfully. We partner with a small number of brands whose products we genuinely believe belong on Bird Bam. Every collaboration must reflect the same standards of quality, design, and authenticity that guide our editorial recommendations.

How do you choose the products you feature?

Every item in The Edit is chosen for its quality, design, and the way it enhances the experience of playing American Mahjong. We look for pieces that are thoughtfully made, beautifully designed, and genuinely useful or enjoyable around the table.
We don't feature products simply because they're popular or because a brand reaches out to us. Every recommendation earns its place through thoughtful curation.

Do you personally own the products you recommend?

Many of them, yes. We play American Mahjong regularly and have firsthand experience with many of the products we feature.
When we recommend something we haven't personally owned, we take the time to research it carefully—considering its design, craftsmanship, reputation, and feedback from other players before deciding it's worthy of sharing with the Collective.

How often is The Edit updated?

The Edit is always evolving. We update it throughout the year as we discover beautiful new finds, as new collections are released, and as timeless favorites continue to earn their place.
There isn't a fixed schedule. We add products when we believe they're worth sharing, and we remove items that are no longer available or no longer belong in The Edit.

Can products sell out?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Some of our favorite finds are produced in small batches, released seasonally, or simply become so popular that they sell out. Because we link directly to independent makers and trusted retailers, availability can change without notice.
We regularly update The Edit, but if something captures your attention, we wouldn't wait too long. Beautiful finds have a way of disappearing.

We love seeing the beautiful tables, traditions, and game nights that make the Mahjong community so special. If you'd like to be considered for a feature in our Inspiration section, we'd love to see what you've created.

What size should I print the PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Most of our printables are designed for standard US Letter size (8.5" × 11"). If a printable requires a different paper size or printing method, you'll find those instructions on its download page.
For reference cards you'll use often, we recommend printing on a heavier cardstock for added durability and a more polished finish.
